Everton are on the lookout for January additions, but the Blues have already turned down one opportunity.

The January window may only be a matter of hours old but there is plenty of business already being done across Europe.

David Moyes needs more firepower at the top end of the pitch, with goals few and far between for his strikers in the first half of the season.

It has been a promising start to the season for Everton as they head into Sunday’s game against Brentford sat in eighth position in the table.

However, Everton are keen to add more goal threats to their squad before the window shuts in the coming weeks.

Although goals are needed, there is one player who Everton have already rejected the chance to buy this month.

Over the last 24 hours, Everton have received positive injury news over Iliman Ndiaye following his scare at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tyler Dibling has been handed an opportunity to impress at right-wing whilst the Senegal international is away in Morocco.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to TeamTalk, Everton were contacted by the representatives of Tottenham Hotspur player Manor Solomon before his loan move to Fiorentina.

Forget your January hopes, what do you actually expect from Everton in the market? 🤔

Along with the Toffees, it is claimed his representatives contacted the following clubs:

With a lack of interest in the winger, Spurs agreed a deal with Serie A outfit Fiorentina for Solomon to join on loan with an option to buy.

Moyes says Everton will only sign the right players in January as the Friedkins are prepared to back the club once again.

Times have changed on Merseyside as the Toffees look to avoid any unnecessary spending in the market.

Everton correct to reject Solomon offer

Well done to Everton for turning down this opportunity and it is clear the winger did not have any interest from the other English clubs.

Since returning to Spurs over the summer, Solomon was loaned out to Villarreal, where he struggled for minutes in La Liga.

Everton are interested in PSV striker Ricardo Pepi, would he replace Thierno Barry straight away? 👀

Moyes has liked what he’s seen from Dibling in his recent showings whilst Ndiaye is away on international duty.

The Toffees do desperately need more quality up top before the window closes, though.

But Everton are taking the correct approach in not rushing into signings with Angus Kinnear and co keeping the club on the right track.
