Tottenham’s 2008 League Cup winning-defender Pascal Chimbonda has a shot at predicting Spurs and West Ham’s remaining fixtures in a nailbiting relegation scrap.

Tottenham Hotspur are potentially facing the four biggest games in the history. Facing relegation, two points off safety behind West Ham United, their run in can either preserve the status quo and give the Tottenham leadership a chance to right their management wrongs… or send the club into a spiral of issues resulting from losing Premier League status.

Few seem to be batting for Tottenham right now, so Spurs fans could find some light in the predictions of Pascal Chimbonda, the retired right-back who started in Spurs’ 2-1 League Cup final victory against Chelsea (as well as in the famous 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal we delt out at the old Lane earlier that year).

The French right back, who’s most recently been coaching non-league side Skelmersdale United, gave us his exclusive prediction for the upcoming fixtures for both Spurs and West Ham.

So how does Chimbonda expects this tail end of the season to play out?

Tottenham can expect trouble at Villa Park

Spurs fans won’t be happy to hear that Chimbonda has Tottenham losing away to Villa next week by two goals to one.

A big European clash awaits Aston Villa where the East Midlands team will try to overturn a one goal deficit to Nottingham Forest, just a few days after Spurs play at Villa Park.

This and with possible absences to crucial Villa players in Kamara and Onana, had some hoping for a positive result against the Villans.

At least according to Chimbonda, West Ham aren’t winning either… He has Brentford beating West Ham at the Gtech by the same scoreline, 2-1.

While this result would at least keep the current two point gap between Spurs and their closest relegation rivals but would nonetheless require Spurs to win at least two games of their remaining three.

Here’s a quick reminder of what the remaining fixtures are for both teams.

What of the remaining run in?

Here’s how Chimbonda thinks this crucial run in will turn out.

A point at Stamford bridge and two wins from the two remaining home games would be the stuff of dreams for Spurs fans. A gain of 7 points would take them past the promised 40 point tally.

Meanwhile West Ham’s more difficult run of fixtures might be Tottenham’s saving grace here. With a visit from league leaders and to St. James’ Park still awaiting, Chimbonda has West Ham scrapeing no points until the last day of the season, their home game to Leeds.

If Pascal Chimbonda’s scenario was to play out, Spurs would secure Premier League safety on the last day of the season. Tottenham would finish on 41 points, while West Ham would have just 39.

Here’s to hoping Spurs don’t leave it that late…
