Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Bergvall will remain on the radar of La Liga title-chasers Real Madrid and the possibility of being the subject of a Bernabeu bid in the coming years has not been ruled out despite his decision to pen a new long-term contract at Hotspur Way, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs showed plenty of ambition ahead of the campaign getting underway, with Dominic Solanke becoming the most expensive acquisition in the north Londoners' history thanks to completing a £65million move from Bournemouth, and boss Ange Postecoglou could end their trophy drought by tasting Europa League glory.

Preparations are being made for Tottenham's semi-final first leg against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt and, despite knowing that they have an obligation to buy Kevin Danso for £20.9million when his loan switch from Lens expires, they have chosen to reward Bergvall with fresh terms.

Bergvall Boasting Interest Despite Fresh Deal

Central midfielder pinpointed as potential future signing at Bernabeu

Bergvall is being tracked by European giants Real Madrid, according to GMS sources, and the Spanish heavyweights are planning to continue keeping tabs on his performances despite his decision to commit his long-term future to Tottenham by signing a new contract earlier this week.

The central midfielder insisted that he has ambitions to 'win everything' in a Spurs shirt after penning a fresh six-year deal which is due to keep him in the capital until 2031, but Los Blancos have remained undeterred and are still entertaining the possibility of eventually attempting to offer an exit route.

GMS sources have been informed that Bergvall will not walk away from Tottenham during the summer transfer window, having put pen-to-paper, but Real Madrid are interested in making him a future signing as they are determined to recruit the leading talents of his generation in the coming years.

Spurs parted with close to £9million in order to recruit the Sweden international from Djurgardens last year, beating Barcelona to his signature in the process, and he has gone on to make himself a key component of Postecoglou's plans despite facing competition from the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr.

Real Madrid are adamant that Bergvall has a very high ceiling, GMS sources have learned, and they are keen to enter negotiations with Tottenham further down the line even though the big development of him signing a new contract has resulted in them accepting that a move in the coming months is not on the cards.

Bergvall Pleased with Growth in North London

Teenager remains convinced recruitment strategy will pay off

GMS sources have been told that Bergvall is fully committed to Tottenham after being rewarded with a new contract, complicating matters for Real Madrid, and he has a desire to become an even more important member of the squad after being pleased with his personal growth over the course of the campaign.

The 19-year-old has been gaining admiring glances thanks to his performances in a Spurs shirt, leading to him being described as 'unstoppable' by Manchester City chief Pep Guardiola, but Los Blancos' interest was not enough to convince him to snub the opportunity to agree fresh terms in north London.

Bergvall is loving life at Tottenham and believes his current employers' recruitment strategy will pay off, GMS sources understand, resulting in him not being concerned about being in the bottom half of the Premier League and at risk of missing out on securing European qualification for next season.

There remains uncertainty over Postecoglou's future at the helm, with GMS sources recently revealing that Spurs are considering Jurgen Klopp, Xabi Alonso and Carlo Ancelotti as potential successors, but the teenager did not hesitate when he was handed the chance to clinch an improved deal.
