It’s a crucial moment in Tottenham Hotspur's history. Relegation or staying in the Premier League, there are key weeks ahead to understand what’s going to happen at Spurs.

Internally, the planning for next season has already started behind the scenes in the hope that the team will be able to continue in the Premier League.

Doing so would allow them to proceed in their long-term project of refreshing the squad, which is something that is clearly needed after two consecutive seasons fighting at the bottom of the table.

Robertson Will Join Tottenham if They Stay Up

The first signing if they stay in Premier League would be Andy Robertson, who has already verbally agreed to join the Tottenham project if they can continue at the highest level.

The contract has not been signed as Robertson wants to wait until the verdict is official, as he doesn’t intend to play Championship football; but that deal would be activated and sealed if all goes to plan for Spurs.

Robertson also received more approaches and proposals, but Tottenham were already on it in January and hoped to get everything done in case of good news from the relegation battle. He’d give priority to Spurs ahead of other Spanish and Italian clubs who are also interested.

Tottenham Don't Have Senesi 'Verbal Agreement' Yet

And Marcos Senesi? The Argentinian defender is also in very advanced talks with Tottenham, as he will leave Bournemouth as a free agent and is opening doors to a summer move.

In this case, nothing is sealed yet and it's also important to say that there are still details to fix in order to call that a ‘verbal agreement’, compared to the Robertson situation.

But if Tottenham manage to stay in the Premier League, both could really end up joining the project.

Senesi also has proposals from Italy, with Juventus keen, and more top Premier League clubs; but North London would be his favourite option, if Tottenham don’t get relegated of course.

Two Tottenham Stars Could Leave

Another situation to follow would be Guglielmo Vicario’s future, with the goalkeeper keen on returning to Italy this summer and Inter Milan interested in signing him to replace Yann Sommer as starting goalkeeper.

Several changes are expected, including the potential exit of Cristian Romero with clubs around Europe and also abroad already on alert.

What’s sure is that Roberto De Zerbi will lead the Tottenham project in any case: he’s been very clear about that in public but also in private.

Meanwhile, his focus is on these final games, and he’s sure that Spurs will stay in the Premier League.
