Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank has turned his attention towards Southampton star Tyler Dibling and Bournemouth talisman Antoine Semenyo after it became clear that he will not seal a reunion with Brentford fan favourite Bryan Mbeumo at Hotspur Way, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on the latest episode of our Market Madness podcast.

Although Spurs completed the permanent signing of Mathys Tel last weekend, thanks to a £30million agreement being reached with Bayern Munich after a productive loan spell, the north Londoners are determined to take advantage of the summer transfer window by securing more creativity on the flanks.

Europa League glory allowed Tottenham to end their 17-year wait for silverware last month, with Brennan Johnson grabbing the all-important winner in the final against Manchester United, and Frank has been tasked with building on the success after being appointed as Ange Postecoglou's successor.

Spurs Setting Sights on Dibling and Semenyo

North Londoners make recruiting right-sided attacker top priority

Frank is eyeing deals for Dibling and Semenyo after prioritising the addition of a new right-sided forward, according to GMS sources, with the duo being earmarked as alternatives to Mbeumo after his preference has remained to complete a move to Manchester United if he is given the green light to leave Brentford for less than £70million.

It emerged earlier this month that the Cameroon international wants to join the Red Devils, despite being the subject of genuine interest from Spurs, and the Old Trafford recruitment department will not have any issues agreeing personal terms if they can come to a compromise over the transfer fee.

GMS sources have been informed that Tottenham are long-term admirers of Dibling and are confident they can land him for closer to £45million despite Southampton claiming he will cost £100million, while Semenyo is also on their radar as a potential acquisition in preparation for Frank's first season at the helm.

Spurs' desire to land Mbeumo pre-dates his former Brentford chief being installed as Postecoglou's successor, but Manchester United are preparing to table an improved offer and the optimism of being able to strike a deal has resulted in the north Londoners being forced to look elsewhere.

Frank is being backed by chairman Daniel Levy with a huge budget, GMS sources have learned, but there is a feeling that he will have to spend upwards of £65million in order to recruit Semenyo as Bournemouth will only allow him to leave for a club-record fee after already losing Dean Huijsen and being in the process of offloading Milos Kerkez.

Son Poised to Resolve Future Later in Window

Captain still gaining interest from big-spenders in Saudi Arabia

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham captain Heung-min Son has remained the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia since 2023, but his future is likely to only be resolved in the latter stages of the transfer window as he is expected to fly to his homeland of South Korea for a pre-season clash with Newcastle United before a possible exit.

The fan favourite is preparing to enter the final 12 months of his £190,000-per-week contract, following Spurs' decision to trigger a one-year extension in January, and there is a serious possibility that he will be given the go-ahead to embark on a fresh challenge as Frank continues aiming to make his mark.

Tottenham could still recruit another left-sided attacker after Tel's permanent arrival, which would leave Son in danger of securing limited game time, while GMS sources understand they are also looking at midfielders and defenders at the same time as prioritising a right-sided forward who can ideally get into more central areas of the pitch.

GMS sources recently revealed that Cristian Romero is poised to make a final decision on his Spurs future by the end of the month, having been targeted by La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid, and there will be an increased desire to secure a fresh backline option if he opts to leave his current surroundings.
