Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank and influential figures behind the scenes are seeing the fast-approaching Premier League clash with Manchester City as an ideal opportunity to step up discussions to lure transfer target Savinho to Hotspur Way, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze is poised to complete a move to arch-rivals Arsenal, after the north Londoners agreed a deal in principle and negotiated personal terms in an eleventh-hour hijack, forcing Spurs to turn their attention towards alternative options as they aim to secure additional creativity in the final third of the pitch.

The England international's snub has come as a significant blow and, despite already parting with £55million in order to land Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United earlier in the transfer window, Tottenham are in the market for another attacking presence as the September 1 deadline edges closer.

Spurs Weigh Up Reigniting Pursuit of Savinho

Tottenham are considering entering fresh talks to sign Savinho this weekend, according to GMS sources, as chairman Daniel Levy and other key decision-makers feel that coming face-to-face with their opposite numbers at Manchester City will be a golden opportunity to see whether it will be possible to recruit him before the transfer window slams shut.

Although the Brazil international's representatives jetted into the country earlier this month in an attempt to push through a move to Spurs, he has remained at the Etihad Stadium after his current employers have been holding out for a fee in the region of £67million and showing no desperation to sanction his exit.

GMS sources have been informed that Tottenham are mulling over whether to make another attempt to recruit Savinho, who enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign, while members of the hierarchy and recruitment department are at the Etihad Stadium for their encounter with Manchester City.

There have been suggestions that a Sky Blues official is blocking the wide forward's move to north London, despite him giving indications that he wants to complete the switch, but Spurs are toying with the idea of trying to convince them to make a U-turn when they are in the same room.

Tottenham's interest in Savinho has not wavered despite being unable to make a breakthrough when they initially held talks with Manchester City, GMS sources have learned, resulting in them keeping him on their radar as they attempt to recover from missing out on the acquisition of Eze.

Savinho Seen as an Alternative Option to Eze

GMS sources have been told that Savinho will be at the centre of internal conversations at Tottenham in the next 48 hours as they are planning to react to being beaten to Eze's signature by securing an alternative playmaker, but there is still uncertainty over whether they will be able to persuade Manchester City to cash in.

The 21-year-old has been described as 'incredible' by Sky Blues boss Pep Guardiola, highlighting that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich chief would be happy to keep him on board, and Spurs are aware that they will have to splash the cash in order to get the deal over the line.

Frank is determined to avoid a situation where he is left short of attacking impetus after also being forced to contend with James Maddison suffering a long-term injury, GMS sources understand, leading to Tottenham contemplating whether to use this weekend's fixture to their advantage by discussing a Savinho swoop.

GMS sources recently revealed that Spurs' Danish tactician had earmarked Eze as his first-choice target, with him giving the green-light to beat Arsenal to an agreement, but they have been forced to move onto contingency plans and are threatening to raid Manchester City in the coming days.
