Tottenham Hotspur have taken a big step in their race with Arsenal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, according to reports - with the England star's personal terms being 'no issue' should the Europa League winners make an official approach to land his services ahead of the new season.
The report by talkSPORT on Monday states that Tottenham are set to make a bid for the Palace star, and so their chances of signing him have been given a huge boost - with Eze's camp letting them know that personal terms will 'not be a problem'.
Report: Tottenham to 'Make' Eze Bid, Personal Terms 'No Issue'
Spurs see the England international as a No.10, and amid James Maddison's long-term injury suffered at the start of the campaign, any move will be separate to a deal looking to bring Brazil star Savinho to the club, as Daniel Levy looks to plunge insane funds for Thomas Frank's men to compete both domestically and continentally.
Spurs, as a result of Arsenal's interest, as hoping to move quickly in the race to land Eze and that has been massively helped out by the fact that personal terms won't be an issue for the Eagles star. Eze is open to a move, and whilst he wants to play Champions League football, staying in London is key for him - which makes the north London duo the favourites to win his signature.
Arsenal do hold a tentative interest in Eze and a late window move cannot be 'discounted', though Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman will be banging on the door for minutes behind Martin Odegaard and therefore, Eze may not get the minutes he'd demand, should his arrival hinder the development of Nwaneri and Dowman.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Eberechi Eze has one goal in 11 caps for England.
Spurs want to move quickly, before Arsenal can 're-enter' the race for his signature, although they don't value Eze's £68million release clause as good value, instead ranking him closer to Mohammed Kudus at £55million, which was his fee after moving to north London from West Ham United earlier in the season.
It remains to be seen whether Palace will engage at the lower offer, but Spurs are optimistic a deal can be done and a first bid, even to test the waters, is now anticipated. Eze grabbed a personal-best eight assists in the Premier League last season, but his real strong showing for Palace was in the FA Cup where he scored in each of the last three rounds to lift their first-ever major trophy.
