Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in signing promising Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, according to Calcio Mercato.
The North London side have reportedly identified the 20-year-old talent as a potential reinforcement to Thomas Frank’s squad, with sporting director Fabio Paratici particularly keen on his arrival.
Paratici is said to have already made enquiries regarding Stankovic, son of Inter Milan hero and 2010 Champions League winner Dejan.
Several clubs around Europe are believed to be keeping tabs on the ‘exceptional’ midfielder, who only joined Brugge from Inter in July, penning a four-year contract.
Tottenham Eyeing Aleksandar Stankovic
According to Calcio Mercato, Inter inserted a €23m buyback clause in their deal to sell Stankovic to Brugge this summer, with the fee set to rise by €2m in 2027.
The Nerazzurri are reportedly already considering bringing back the 20-year-old to the club after the season, amid his standout displays in Belgium this campaign.
Stankovic has been a key player for Brugge since joining, making 20 appearances across all competitions and registering two goal contributions.
The 20-year-old has started in all six of the club’s Champions League matches, including the 3-0 loss to Arsenal on Wednesday and the entertaining 3-3 draw with Barcelona last month.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Stankovic has won four senior caps for Serbia.
Stankovic did not make a single senior appearance for Inter before departing, despite captaining the Serie A giants’ youth side.
The Serbia international spent last season on loan at Swiss side FC Luzern, where he scored three goals and provided two assists in 40 appearances.
Tottenham Ready to Sell Bissouma
Tottenham are ready to axe Yves Bissouma from the club in January after yet another disciplinary issue off the pitch, with the midfielder filmed inhaling laughing gas again.
The North London side have reportedly made the decision to part ways with the Malian at the turn of the year, as he has no future in the squad under Thomas Frank.
Bissouma, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has yet to play a single minute for Spurs this season as he remains sidelined with an injury.
