Tottenham Hotspur have been pushing harder to sign Crystal Palace star attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze more than anyone else over the past couple of days, including Manchester City star winger Savinho, who is the other top transfer target on Thomas Frank's wishlist.

Eze was wanted by Tottenham earlier in the transfer window, and while their interest cooled and even included a pivot to Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White, Spurs are back in on the London hero 100 percent after the torn ACL to starter James Maddison.

There is a lot of optimism in the air that Tottenham will be able to land Eze from Palace. Eze has expressed a desire to move to Tottenham, and Palace seem to be open to selling Eze for the right price. Spurs, on that note, will be happy that his release clause quietly expired on Friday, meaning they can sign the Premier League star for less than the previous price tag of 68 million pounds.

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano while speaking on the DAZN Football channel on YouTube, the latest transfer bid from Tottenham to Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze is 55 million pounds plus an additional 5 million pounds in bonuses. The Eagles have expressed to Spurs that they would still like a higher fee, but the talks are "advancing", per Fab.

Fabrizio Romano names his percentage

Furthermore, Romano gave an exact percentage prediction of the chances of Eze moving to Tottenham, and he's set his number at 85 percent. While that may seem low to Spurs fans who are reading the tea leave and see that Eze wants Tottenham, Spurs want him, Arsenal have dropped out of the race to make sure phenom Ethan Nwaneri gets sufficient minutes, the release clause has expired, and Palace are closing in on a replacement in Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss (also an alternative for Tottenham).

However, 85 percent is a high, if not bold, number for a general world transfer insider with a reputation for being right 99.99 percent of the time. That means Romano is highly confident that Eze is going to Tottenham barring something unexpected, and the only reason why it isn't higher than 85 percent is probably because negotiations on the final fee are ongoing.

At this point, Tottenham supporters have many reasons to be optimistic that Eze will be headed to their club, and, now, the big question will be exactly how much more than 60 million pounds, if at all, will Spurs be paying for their new attacking midfielder.
