Ange Postecoglou is being lined up for a top European job after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer, according to GIVEMESPORT Senior Reporter Fabrizio Romano.
According to the Italian journalist, Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce are both holding internal talks over a move for the Europa League winning manager.
Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce Target Postecoglou
Tottenham felt they were left with little option to axe Postecoglou just weeks after their Europa League final victory against Manchester United in May, due to their performance in the Premier League last season.
Despite leading Spurs to their first major trophy since 2008, the 60-year-old was sacked by Daniel Levy after the north London club ended the campaign in 17th position, losing 22 of their 38 top-flight matches.
Even though Postecoglou was fired into the limelight with the European title win, he is yet to have been appointed by another club - but that could be about to change.
According to Romano on X, both Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce are keen on the Australian.
The Bundesliga giants — who will compete alongside Tottenham in the Champions League this term — have sacked former United boss Erik ten Hag after just two Bundesliga games, following one draw and one defeat.
Meanwhile, it is a former Tottenham and Man United manager who has got the boot just weeks into the season in Turkey as well — Jose Mourinho.
'The Special One' was relieved of his duties after Fenerbahce failed to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League, leaving two top European clubs searching for a manager in the early days of September.
It is no surprise that Postecoglou is being discussed after showing he can win major European trophies, while he is also available now which makes a deal for Leverkusen or Fenerbahce easier than trying to prise a manager away from another club.
