Radu Dragusin could leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window amid Serie A interest, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Romanian defender has yet to feature for Thomas Frank’s side this season and could be on his way out of North London just 24 months after his arrival from Genoa in January 2024.

Romano says Dragusin is one to watch during the winter market, as Tottenham could allow the centre-back to depart following his return from a lengthy injury absence.

The 23-year-old made the matchday squad for the first time this season in Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool last weekend but remained an unused substitute.

Radu Dragusin Could Leave Spurs

Speaking on his Italian YouTube channel, Romano revealed that Serie A duo Roma and Fiorentina are interested in Dragusin ahead of the January transfer window:

“A name to keep an eye on certainly during the winter market is that of Radu Dragusin, central defender of Tottenham, who is returning from an injury and who could return to Italy.

“In this case we must be patient with Tottenham, because as of today, Tottenham have not given the okay for the player, but it is expected that this matter could be unlocked in the coming weeks.”

“Two clubs that have started, as far as I understand, to think about it are Roma and Fiorentina.”

Dragusin last featured for Spurs in January, when he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the Europa League.

The 'outstanding' 23-year-old has made only 37 appearances for Tottenham since joining, including 18 Premier League starts.

Tottenham could also look to sell Yves Bissouma when the market reopens next month, after the midfielder was filmed inhaling laughing gas last month.

Paratici to Seek Dragusin Reunion?

Fiorentina’s interest in Dragusin could be linked to their ongoing talks to appoint Tottenham’s co-sporting director Fabio Paratici as their new head of football.

The Serie A side are reportedly negotiating over the Italian executive’s arrival on a long-term deal and want Paratici to become a key part of their project.

Paratici only returned to Tottenham in October, joining as joint sporting director alongside Johan Lange.

The 53-year-old first joined Spurs in 2021 and spent two years at the club before being banned from football for his role in alleged false accounting at his former club, Juventus.

Tottenham May Need Another Defender

Dragusin’s departure in January could leave Tottenham in need of reinforcements at centre-back, as they would have to mostly rely on the trio of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso.

Spurs also have veteran Ben Davies, who has played just 53 minutes this season, and youngster Kota Takai, who has yet to feature.
