Fabrizio Romano has shared an update in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter on Tottenham's transfer priority after agreeing a deal for Morgan Gibbs-White and Mohammed Kudus this week.

Thomas Frank arrived at the club from Brentford this summer to replace Ange Postecoglou as manager, and immediately identified the midfield as an area he wanted to strengthen, with more goals and creativity wanted.

Chairman Daniel Levy has moved swiftly this week too by completing a deal to sign Ghana star Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55m, before stunningly agreeing to pay the £60m release clause in Gibbs-White's Nottingham Forest contract, with a medical to take place today (Friday).

Tottenham Want Another Midfielder

No more deals expected to happen this week

With the move for Gibbs-White expected to be completed imminently over the weekend, all eyes have turned to what the north London club could do next in the transfer market to bolster their squad.

And when asked about Spurs' priority after those attacking additions, Romano explained that the club are eyeing a new midfielder although there is full focus on completing the Gibbs-White deal first before moving on to any other targets.

"They can add a midfielder too, but now their focus is on sealing all the details with Gibbs-White.

"There will be nothing more this week."

Reports on Thursday evening suggested that Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton was the next player to be targeted, with Spurs preparing a £60m bid for the England international.

However, the club have also been heavily linked to signing a new striker this summer to compete with Dominic Solanke. Frank is said to be keen to sign Yoane Wissa from his former club, although they face competition from Nottingham Forest, while there is also interest in Juventus outcast Dusan Vlahovic too.
