Fabrizio Romano has dropped a fresh update on what could come next for Tottenham in the transfer window, with the club’s midfield options firmly in the spotlight after their pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White.
Tottenham Hotspur have shown some ambition so far this summer window, in terms of new signings, having spent well over £100 million on four players.
This week alone, Kota Takai was introduced as a Tottenham player after his £5 million move from Kawasaki Frontale, while Spurs also splashed cash on Mohammed Kudus, bringing him in from West Ham United for £55 million.
It was set to be a solid outlay of £120 million in the space of a week from the north London side, as they activated Morgan Gibbs-White’s £60 million release clause, only for the move to be delayed due to legal action taken by the Nottingham Forest hierarchy.
Tottenham eye new midfielder after Morgan Gibbs-White deal
Regardless, Tottenham still remain confident that they will sign Gibbs-White, despite the anger from Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
It has been reported that Tottenham are expected to continue their transfer business even after all these signings, with a forward still firmly on their radar.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed Spurs’ priority after completing those attacking additions. Romano has explained that Tottenham are eyeing a move for a new midfielder, although there is full focus on finalising the Gibbs-White deal first before moving on to any other targets.

Spurs linked with midfielders as Yves Bissouma faces uncertain future
Over the past few days, Spurs have been linked with a host of midfielders in the holding position, which comes as no surprise, with reports stating that a bid for Yves Bissouma is imminent.
Thus far, Tottenham have been linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, who is said to be eyeing a return to the Premier League after having held talks with the Old Lady.
A move for Bayern Munich’s Joao Palhinha has also been discussed, as the Portuguese midfielder struggled for game time in his debut season in the German top flight.
