Tottenham Hotspur very much remain in the race to land one of the most exciting young wingers in European football.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham want to make a ‘statement’ addition to their attack in the upcoming transfer window.
Among the names on the Lilywhites’ wishlist is a 19-year-old who has been nearly unplayable in the German top-flight this term.
It has been reported that Spurs have held advanced talks over a deal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who has notched up seven goals and four assists across all competitions so far this campaign.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham’s interest in Yan Diomande
A couple of days ago, journalist Dean Jones said that he expects Spurs to miss out on Diomande, suggesting that he is too ambitious a target for the Lilywhites.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed on his YouTube channel that the North London club have not called off their pursuit of the Leipzig man yet.
The journalist said that Thomas Frank’s men are one of several clubs monitoring the Ivory Coast international closely and that they have sent their scouts to Germany recently to follow the player.

Spurs would have to shatter their transfer record to land Diomande
Tottenham are expected to face competition from the likes of Liverpool for Diomande, with the Reds allegedly identifying him as a potential replacement for Mohammed Salah.
Additionally, it has been claimed that Leipzig are demanding a whopping €100m (£87m) for the Spurs target in January.
That would comfortably eclipse Tottenham’s previous club record signing: the £65m they paid to Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke 18 months ago.
