Tottenham are expected to make a decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future ‘very soon’, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Lilywhites are still assessing their options internally after Postecoglou led them to Europa League glory last month, but they are anticipated to decide on the Australian’s future imminently.

Romano claims Postecoglou ‘has always been confident’ of continuing at Spurs despite their worst-ever Premier League finish, with the North London club ending the season 17th with only 11 wins.

The former Celtic boss finished fifth in his first season in charge of Spurs, who ended their 17-year wait for a trophy last month and qualified for next season’s Champions League.

Spurs Yet to Decide on Postecoglou’s Future

North London club still assessing options

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is set to make a decision on Postecoglou ‘very soon’, as options are still being evaluated internally:

“Daniel Levy, Tottenham chairman, is expected to make a decision on the future of Ange Postecoglou.

“Postecoglou in public and also speaking in private to people close to him, has always been confident on continuing at Tottenham, believing that he had the possibility to win a title after 17 years, and so to continue at the club.

“But internally at Tottenham, they are still assessing options. No final decision has been made, but it's going to come very soon by Daniel Levy.”

Postecoglou joined Tottenham in the summer of 2023 on a three-year deal and was heavily linked with an exit throughout the 2024/25 campaign as Spurs lingered in the bottom half of the table.

The North London club managed just one win in their final 12 league games, a 3-1 victory over bottom-placed Southampton, and finished outside the Premier League’s top 15 for the first time in their history.

Spurs are believed to have earmarked top-flight proven managers Marco Silva and Thomas Frank as potential successors if Postecoglou is sacked, although both are currently under contract at Fulham and Brentford, respectively.

Former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli has also been mooted in recent weeks, as well as Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola.
