Tottenham have submitted a €70m (£60m) bid for Como midfielder Nico Paz, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The North London side are on the lookout for late reinforcements to Thomas Frank’s squad and are believed to have identified Paz as a potential alternative to Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal on a four-year deal on Saturday.

Como have turned down Spurs’ initial bid for the 20-year-old midfielder, who wants to stay with the Serie A club this summer and has his sights set on a return to Real Madrid.

Paz departed the Spanish giants in the summer of 2024 to join Como, but Real will have the final say on his future, having inserted a clause giving them first refusal to match any offer from another club.

Romano claims Real also have a €10m (£8.6m) buyback clause they can activate in 2026 to bring Paz back to the club.

Romano, writing on X, revealed that Tottenham have seen their €70m bid for Paz rejected by Como, with the 20-year-old not looking to depart before the transfer deadline:

Paz enjoyed a promising debut 2024/25 season in Serie A, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 35 appearances under head coach Cesc Fabregas.

The 20-year-old also started the new campaign strongly, scoring and assisting in Como’s 2-0 win over Lazio on Sunday, with Romano heavily praising the midfielder in his latest video:

“The player on the pitch is wonderful, assist today, wonderful. Go look at that goal, the free-kick scored against Lazio.

“This player is special already with the Argentinian national team, did fantastic already last season in Serie A, and now started in an incredible way.”

Tottenham are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window as they continue their pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho.

The Lilywhites have seen all approaches for the 21-year-old rebuffed in the last two weeks but are expected to make another push before the deadline.

Frank’s side have started the Premier League campaign with two wins from two and next face Bournemouth at home on Saturday.
