Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign Farren Doran as they move to future-proof their goalkeeping options in North London.
Other than firing Ange Postecoglou and hiring Thomas Frank, it’s been a quiet start to the summer transfer window at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel have joined Spurs on permanent deals following their loan spells while Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has joined Marseille on a full-time basis in similar circumstances.
However, it seems like Frank is close to sealing his first signing as Tottenham manager with Doran arriving from Manchester City.
Spurs on verge of signing young goalkeeper Doran from Manchester City
Doran is reportedly joining Tottenham from Manchester City as part of this year’s scholarship update.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Little is known about the young goalkeeper, who has made some of the Man City Under-18s matchday squads and has also been with the camp for England’s Under-15s.
The Lilywhite Rose podcast reported via Instagram on Monday (30 June) that the young shot-stopper is swapping Manchester for London this summer.
That move now seems to be a goer with Doran following Tottenham Hotspur on his personal Instagram account, while also following the likes of James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Spurs hero Gareth Bale.
Who will Tottenham sign in summer transfer window?
Spurs have been linked with a lot of players since the end of last season.
Daniel Levy’s delayed decision to sack Postecoglou put everything back a few weeks so while some clubs have already started the summer with a big – like Man City and Liverpool – Spurs haven’t.
West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus has been linked recently as Tottenham finally look at breaking their self-imposed embargo on signing players from East London.
Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is also reportedly a target for Frank, who managed him with the Bees.
Spurs could sell players this summer before they sign any for their first team.
Cristian Romero is widely reported to be wanted by Atletico Madrid.
We’d expect that deal to go through before any incomings due to how intensely Diego Simeone is pursuing his Argentine counterpart.
