Sandro Tonali’s wife, Juliette Pastore, expressed her gratitude to Newcastle United in a heartfelt statement.
Tonali is no longer a Newcastle player after his £100million transfer to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur was confirmed on Monday morning.
The Italian played a key role as the Magpies ended their 56-year trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League during the 2024-25 season.
But before that, Tonali was hit with a 10-month betting ban just months after joining United from boyhood club AC Milan for £55million in July 2023.

And Pastore has thanked Newcastle for the way its people rallied around her and Tonali during “one of the most difficult moments” of their lives.
“Some places leave a mark on your heart forever,” Pastore wrote on Instagram. “Newcastle will always be one of them.
“When life unexpectedly changed for us, this city wrapped its arms around our family. The club, the staff, our teammates, the fans and every person who showed us kindness stood by us with so much understanding, support and compassion.
“In one of the most difficult moments of our lives, you made sure we never felt alone, and that is something we will carry with us forever.
“Newcastle gave us so much more than football. It gave us friendships that became family, memories we will treasure forever, and some of the happiest moments of our lives. It’s where I became a wife, where I became a mum, and where our little boy spent the very first months of his life. That makes this city a part of our story forever.
“As this chapter comes to an end, all I can say is thank you. Thank you for opening your hearts to us, for believing in us, and for making us feel at home when we needed it the most.
“A piece of our hearts will always belong to Newcastle. Forever grateful. 🤍”
