Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has advised Eberechi Eze to reject Arsenal’s advances in favour of a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Eze transfer saga has had plenty of twists and turns over the last weeks and it would appear that Tottenham are no longer favourites to win the race for the England international

While it was claimed last week that Spurs were prepared to meet Eze’s £68m release clause, it has been claimed by several sources over the last few days that Tottenham have backed off from a deal for the Crystal Palace star.

It has been suggested over the past 24 hours that Arsenal are considering making an offer for Eberechi Eze and multiple outlets are claiming that the 27-year-old is in favour of a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Alan Pardew tells Eberechi Eze why he should join Tottenham

Pardew believes that the former QPR man’s addition may not necessarily take Arsenal to the Premier League title, pointing out that Mikel Arteta’s men already have enough quality on the flanks and in the number ten role.

He urged Eze to reject the Gunner’s advances and move to Spurs to be part of Thomas Frank’s project at N17.

Pardew told talkSPORT: “My Arsenal friends, all June (said) if they get the right number nine, they’ve got a great chance of winning the league and I do agree with that.

“Would Eze take them nearer to that title? Possibly but I think they’ve got enough quality with everybody there. So, therefore, I have answered your question. I think he should go to Spurs if he leaves the great Crystal Palace.”

Pardew offers a prediction on Eze’s future amid Arsenal talks

While Pardew believes that Tottenham Hotspur would be a better fit for the Palace star over Arsenal, he expects the Eagles to hang onto the attacking midfielder this summer.

The 63-year-old has backed the South London club to hold firm amidst offers for Eze and does not think that the Spurs target will agitate for a move.

He added about Eze’s future: “He’s secured for two or three years on his contract so I think they can be a bit bolder. I don’t think there’s any financial pressure there. They have new owners in Crystal Palace, more funds coming in.

“So I think Eze will stay and I don’t think that’s a bad thing because I think he’s one of those who doesn’t get stressed out by things. He’s quite a cool guy, he’s quite grounded. I think he’ll have another great year at Crystal Palace, hopefully.”
