Bryan Mbuemo’s exit from Brentford feels all but nailed on, and Tottenham are keen.
With the final week in June approaching, the expectation is that transfer activity at Tottenham will start to accelerate, with the PSR turnover due.
Following the arrival of Mathys Tel, Spurs have already started their summer business, though they will be keen to do plenty more in order to give Thomas Frank the best chance of succeeding.
One of those to have been linked with Spurs is Mbuemo, who has also attracted heavy interest from Manchester United.
Champions League football could entice Mbuemo to North London
Despite finishing 17th, Tottenham have a Champions League campaign to attend to next season, and that is likely to play a huge role in the recruitment between now and the end of the window.

Amid links to Mbuemo, Paul Robinson believes that his relationship with Frank could play a deciding role in his next move, with the offer of Champions League football to play a part.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “Champions League football is a huge thing in Tottenham’s favour. And in Thomas Frank’s favour, he’s got a great relationship with all the players that he’s worked with, including Mbuemo.
“The link to Manchester United has been there for a while, but actually, with Thomas Frank now at Tottenham and the opportunity to play Champions League football, he could be persuaded.
“I think Tottenham are ahead in the race with Thomas Frank there and the offer of Champions League football.
“I think that his wages could be a stumbling block, but if he’s willing to find a middle ground on that, then that puts Tottenham in the driving seat for me.”
Frank can utilise Brentford links to Spurs advantage
Mbuemo is the standout, but Bournemouth have a very talented squad, which is now being picked apart after Frank‘s departure.
Dean Huijsen has joined Real Madrid, Milos Kerkez has joined Liverpool, and several others could leave before the season starts.
Tottenham can take advantage of that and use Frank’s relationships with his former players to bolster their own squad.
