There will not be too many Tottenham players featuring in the end-of-season awards, given the disastrous campaign that the Lilywhites have had domestically, but Guglielmo Vicario’s brilliant moment at Stamford Bridge last month has been nominated for save of the season.

While Spurs fans are still on cloud nine after the events of Bilbao a week ago, most of them will want to forget what happened in the league.

Tottenham have had their worst-ever season in Premier League history, losing 22 league games and finishing just one spot away from the relegation zone.

However, that does not mean we did not get to see some brilliant moments from Spurs players this season, and one has now been nominated for a major honour.

Guglielmo Vicario’s save against Chelsea nominated for award

The brilliant save that Guglielmo Vicario pulled off in the London derby at Stamford Bridge at the start of April has been nominated for the Save of the Season award.

Spurs lost the game 1-0, but the Italian pulled off a sensational save to deny Jadon Sancho right on the cusp of half-time after a cross found its way to the England international.

Sancho had time to bring the ball down and unleash a fierce strike from nearly point-blank range, and the Italian made a stunning reaction save at full stretch to tip the ball over the crossbar.

Tottenham man misses out on Young Player of the Season nomination

Lucas Bergvall might have felt that he had a shot at being nominated for the Young Player of the Season award after the extremely impressive debut campaign he had in the Premier League.

Bergvall swept all of Tottenham’s end-of-season awards, but the Swede did not make the six-man shortlist for the Young Player of the Season award.

That award will go to one of Liam Delap, Anthony Elanga, Ryan Gravenberch, Dean Huijsen, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, or William Saliba, who are the six nominees.
