Harry Kane may stay at Bayern Munich amid transfer links to Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea eye Kenan Yildiz - Paper Round

Harry Kane is linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona, but might stay at Bayern Munich. Arsenal hope to sign fresh terms with Jurrien Timber, and may have to battle with Chelsea if they want to sign Kenan Yildiz from Serie A giants Juventus. Elsewhere, Kevin Muscat has been tipped as the favourite to replace the sacked Russell Martin at Rangers in the coming days.
Kane linked with Barca switch
A report in the Mirror links Harry Kane with the chance to replace Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona.
Kane can leave Bayern Munich in the summer for £56 million, provided he gives the Bundesliga champions notice.
The paper explains: "The England striker remains under contract until 2027 but has already been tipped for a move away from Bayern Munich.
"He has a £56m release clause written into his deal with Bayern Munich that will become active next summer but there are a few caveats, such as having to make his current employers aware before the end of the January transfer window should he intend to leave.
"Kane’s former club Tottenham have been linked with a sensational move that will see him return to North London. He however remains open to extending his stay in Bavaria."
Arsenal in talks for Timber deal
Arsenal have started talks with defender Jurrien Timber as they look to keep hold of the Dutchman.
The 24-year-old has impressed at Emirates Stadium and the club want to reward him for those performances.
The Evening Standard reports: "The 24-year-old still has over two years to run on his current deal, but the Gunners want to reward him for his fine performances.
"After suffering a serious knee injury on his Premier League debut two years ago, Timber has become a key part of Arsenal’s defence and one of Mikel Arteta’s most trusted players.
"Timber has played across the defence during his time at Arsenal, impressing at left-back on occasion, but the club’s plan when they signed him was always for him to be a right-back."
Arsenal face battle for Yildiz
Chelsea and Arsenal could tussle for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, according to the Daily Star.
The 20-year-old Turkey international is attracting interest as he stars in Serie A for Juventus, and has recently been lauded by Zinedine Zidane.
The Daily Star writes: "The Gunners have long been keen on the forward and recently sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old during his clash with AC Milan.
"Whilst London neighbours Chelsea submitted a £61 million offer for the Turkish sensation during the summer, which was rejected, Arteta might include him on his January shopping list."
Muscat leads the way for Rangers
Shanghai Port manager Kevin Muscat is leading the race to take over from Russell Martin at Rangers.
The former defender was considered at previous times by Rangers, and Danny Rohl may not get the gig after all.
The Daily Record states: "On Monday afternoon, after days of fretting over a ludicrously high profile snub from Steven Gerrard, word began to emerge that Muscat was finally being considered seriously as an option.
"And given that Danny Rohl - a 36-year-old German with one full season behind him during which he achieved a 12th place finish in the Championship at Sheffield Wednesday - had taken Gerrard’s position as the obvious frontrunner, it was really little wonder.
"Rohl’s name first cropped up among the candidates pulled together by sporting director Kevin Thelwell back in the summer. That Thelwell ultimately decided Martin to be the better qualified candidate caused an instant credibility problem."
