Harry Kane has been linked with a return to Tottenham consistently since he left in 2023.

The striker climbed to the top of the Lilywhites’ list of record goalscorers before departing to join Bayern Munich, where he has finally been able to claim the silverware that had escaped him for so long.

Kane has been tipped to return to Tottenham on several occasions within the last year or so, despite the success that he has enjoyed in the Bundesliga.

His record in Germany is simply staggering, but now Thomas Frank and Co. may get a huge chance to bring him back to N17.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Tottenham scout Bryan King.

Harry Kane would be open to Tottenham move as Bayern Munich exit likely

Kane is a genuine legend at Tottenham, and they would surely jump at the chance to bring him back to his boyhood club.

That opportunity looks as though it could be about to arise in the near future, with German journalist Raphael Honigstein recently telling talkSPORT (via The Express) that Bayern are “braced” for him to leave before the end of his contract in 2027.

The frontman is now 32, and has hit a scarcely believable 82 goals in all competitions during the last two full campaigns with Bayern.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Kane would definitely be open to a return to N17 if the chance materialised.

“Without doubt (he’d be open to a return),” King said.

“He’s still a very respected name at Tottenham with supporters and people at the club, and he’s already repaid the money to Bayern Munich in shirt sales, media interest and sponsorships.

“I’m sure Spurs would get at least a year or two out of him, given the way that he’s kept himself.

“They could even pick the games for him to feature in if needs be. His business is in the box, and he does it very well.”

Harry Kane will want to chase Alan Shearer’s Premier League record

Kane built an incredible legacy at Tottenham, but there is still a major record in the Premier League that will surely be on his mind.

The England captain sits just 47 goals shy of Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record, a remarkable tally of 260, which many thought would never be beaten.

His desire to move abroad was certainly admirable, but he is now running out of time to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if he is to break that record.

Given Kane’s prolific nature in front of goal, that 47-goal gap could be bridged within two seasons, but he may not have too long left in his career.

It feels like now or never for both him and Spurs if they are to complete an emotional reunion, and both parties may never get a better opportunity than within the next 18 months.
