Harry Kane transfer speculation is heating up once more, with Tottenham now facing competition from Barcelona for the Bayern Munich star’s signature.

Tottenham have been linked with a Kane return ever since the great striker left N17. However, since Thomas Frank arrived at the Lilywhites, talks have only intensified for Kane’s Tottenham return.

At the moment, Tottenham have striker issues. Richarlison continues to underwhelm, and Randal Kolo Muani can’t get a shot on target for Frank.

However, the recent update on Kane‘s future makes for interesting reading, as Tottenham may have first dibs over Barcelona.

Barcelona are now heavily linked with Harry Kane

According to the Spanish outlet, Diario SPORT, Kane is considering the option of moving to La Liga giants Barcelona, as the Catalonian club seeks a replacement for the ageing Robert Lewandowski.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Barcelona would likely look to trigger the England captain’s release clause at Bayern in January, before a summer move for the start of the 2026-27 season.

In October, iconic football commentator Ian Darke spoke exclusively to Tottenham Hotspur News about Kane and explained that the Lilywhites may have ‘first refusal’ for a transfer, after comments were made by Frank on the striker’s potential return.

Darke said: “Frank kind of went on record talking about what a great player Kane was.

“More or less sort of holding out an enticing sort of idea to him that he’d be welcome back, and I think they [Tottenham] get a first refusal if it came to that.”

Although £57m is a lot of money for Tottenham to splash, especially after this summer’s spending, Kane could still end up back where he belongs, thanks to Joe Lewis

Joe Lewis’ £100m cash boost could be used on Kane

Earlier this season, it was announced that Lewis was investing a further £100m into Tottenham, with him and his family marking their territory on the Lilywhites with the ambitious act.

Daniel Levy’s departure could improve the chances of the strikers’ return, as Kane and Lewis are reportedly close, even taking family holidays together.

Frank will need help in January if Tottenham are to be successful this season, and what greater recruit is there than Kane?

Now at 32, Kane somehow looks better than ever, and would still be a smart investment for Lewis and Tottenham to make.
