North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham could be involved in a head-to-head transfer battle for a wonderkid dubbed the next Kaka this summer.

But the two Premier League rivals are not the only clubs interested in signing 17-year-old Colombian talent Samuel Martinez.

GIVEMESPORT reported earlier this month that a number of clubs were scouting the teen sensation and the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica were all present for the Sudamericano U17 semi-final with Brazil.

Samuel Martinez's Best Position as Arsenal and Tottenham Join Race

Colombia would go on to win that game 3-0 and then the final against Argentina 4-0 too, to claim the trophy, with Martinez picking up an assist in each game.

GIVEMESPORT understands that Martinez is keen on a move to Europe and would be available for a bargain fee, given he is not under contract, although his age determines that a fee will be required.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is usually utilised as a No.10 and is viewed as one of the most promising Colombian prospects in his position.

Some negotiation is still required with his Atletico National, just to agree exit terms between all parties, but he's still set to be available for a low fee.

Arsenal and Spurs have both been linked with him, despite having not been named as having scouts in attendance for the Sudamericano U17 tournament, although that does not mean they were not there.

Samuel Martinez Likened To Brazil Legend

Bayern have also emerged as leading contenders for his signature this summer.

Journalist Philipp Kessler tweeted: "FC Bayern is comparing the Colombia gem Samuel Martinez to Brazil legend Kaka. Alongside the Bavarians, Tottenham and Arsenal have also joined the race for the attacking talent around the U17 South American Championship final."

Neither of the North Londoners have great pedigree when it comes to Colombian players thriving in the first team.

Davinson Sanchez and David Ospina are the only two to have played in the Premier League for the two sides, with each having one youth team player that did not go on to perform at the highest level in England in Juan Pablo Gonzalez Velasco and Alexei Rojas.
