It has been revealed that Heung-min Son might have already waved his goodbyes, as there is a growing belief inside Tottenham that he could be on his way out this summer.

It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Tottenham Hotspur could sell Heung-min Son during the current summer transfer window.

Son is attracting serious interest from clubs in the Middle East, while Jose Mourinho is also keen on a reunion with the Tottenham captain.

Son recently declared himself a club legend following Tottenham’s latest European triumph in Bilbao, Spain. However, regardless of the recent links, it is understood that Son will not be forced out of Spurs this summer.

Heung-min Son gives Tottenham staff impression he is leaving

Tottenham supporters widely consider Heung-min Son a club legend and believe he has earned the right to decide when he moves on.

However, some fans also feel that this summer could represent the right moment to cash in. Reports have suggested a £30 million fee could be enough to sanction a deal for Son, as the Tottenham captain still has a year left on his contract following his extension in January.

Journalist Matt Law on Last Word on Spurs has now hinted that an exit from Tottenham could be very much on the cards for Son this summer.

This is because of the way Son said his goodbyes after Tottenham’s final Premier League game of the season against Brighton, which left many with the impression that he might have played his last match for the club.

He said: “I mean, certainly after the last game of the season, he left people with the impression, both in the dressing room and around the staff, that he might have played his last game for Tottenham.

“The way he said his goodbyes for the summer did leave people with the impression that he thought he could go.

“I think there is a willingness to do a deal if he feels the timing is right now that he has won that trophy and the time might be right for both parties.”

Spurs are preparing for life after Son with new attacking targets

Of course, Heung-min Son is a Tottenham legend, having made 454 appearances, scoring 173 goals and providing 101 assists across his time in north London.

Now approaching 33, there appears to be an internal acceptance that the club may be entering the final stretch of Son’s career, and preparations are already being made for life after him.
