Leeds United take on Spurs this evening already knowing we’re safe from relegation. But, we’re looking to finish the season as strong as possible under Daniel Farke.
United’s position as a Premier League club came down to whether West Ham would be able to claw back a seven-goal deficit in the final three games of their season.
The Irons faced title-hopefuls Arsenal at home on Sunday. Although, a narrow and controversial 1-0 loss to the Gunners meant Leeds are now mathematically safe ahead of tonight’s game against Spurs.
Leeds United team news pre-Spurs: Pascal Struijk confirms availability
Eddie Riemer was in front of the mic for our pre-Spurs press conference this week as Daniel Farke recovered from illness.
He delivered worrying team news with Noah Okafor ruled out for two games with a calf strain, while Gabriel Gudmundsson still hasn’t recovered from his either.
Elsewhere, Pascal Struijk was confirmed as a doubt with hip issues. Riemer confirmed that Struijk was forced train individually at the back end of the week.
However, the Dutchman has since confirmed his availability for the trip down to North London. He has shared a pre-match post on his Instagram story, effectively confirming he’s in the squad for tonight:
Huge boost for Leeds United’s defence in tough game away to Roberto De Zerbi’s Spurs
While we’re safe and there’s zero trepidation around the fixture, tonight will be an incredibly tough game.
Spurs have won back-to-back away games since their last home fixture. And, they will be massively buoyed by their upturn in form and West Ham’s loss.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is set to be a cauldron tonight. So, it’s up to Farke to quell that early intensity and keep heads calm.
Struijk being back in the team is ideal for our defence looking to stem the flow of Tottenham momentum following recent form.
