Hull City certainly didn't hold back in the summer with their transfer spending. The Tigers may have spent the previous summer under a transfer embargo but owner Acun Ilicali didn't hold back with that Premier League cash in the bank.

The Tigers spent to the tune of £150m in bringing in 18 new signings to give Sergej Jakirovic a host of new faces to compliment what he already had with his promotion winners.

The money looks to have been well spent so far with City making a terrific start to the season, aided in a large part by the likes of new arrivals Konstantinos Tzolakis, Nobel Mendy and Mohamed Ali-Cho. City sit eighth in the league table as the top flight takes a three-week international break, with a return of eight points from their opening five games.

When you break down the money spent by City per point so far, the Tigers also sit in eighth place - that is, £150m spent divided by eight points, for a total of £18.75m spent per point so far. It may seem a lot but it's one of the best records in the league as things stand.

Crystal Palace (£7.75m per point) and Everton (£8.68 per point) have a far better return and top the table, by the fact they spent significantly less. Both teams - Palace, £31m and Everton, £78.2m - spent combined far less than City

Unsurprisingly, the worst return currently sits with Tottenham Hotspur, who are bottom on two points despite a £334m spend this off-season. Aston Villa are next with £251.8m spent and only four points to show for it so far.

Below is the full Premier League table of money-per-point after five games.
