Speaking to us as part of an exclusive interview which you can read in full in theOfficial Matchday Programme for this Saturday's clash with Brighton & Hove Albion - 5.30pm kick-off (UK) - 20-year-old Lucas was up front and honest about how he and his team-mates are looking at our current situation and spoke of their united determination to put things right.

Having missed much of 2026 through injury, the Swede returned to action last month, stepping off the bench to play his first minutes in the Premier League since January as we hosted Nottingham Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before he made his first start in three months as we travelled to Sunderland on Sunday.

The youngster admits that period on the sidelines was a 'tough' one for him as he was unable to help his team-mates on the pitch. However, while he couldn't play his part on the field, he remained as-ever supportive off it, behind them every step of the way.

And the same can be said about our supporters who rallied so movingly ahead of our last home match when Nottingham Forest made the trip to N17. We didn't get the result on the day but the rousing actions of our fans clearly had an impact on the players.

Despite enduring a painful afternoon as Forest ran out 3-0 winners, Lucas has lauded the efforts of our fans with him blown away by the energy and devotion of supporters who packed out Tottenham High Road in their droves that day, especially considering the current situation.

The midfielder knows we will need to continue to see and hear that fervent passion and emotion from the fanbase over the next few weeks as we battle to turn our campaign around. But, with the team full of belief, the fans behind us and everyone ready to play their part, the Swede knows we can get the job done.

“It was a great feeling seeing everybody together (pre-Forest)," Lucas said. "Sadly, the game didn’t go our way, but just seeing the fans fully behind us was unbelievable.

“Keep doing that and keep going now until the end. It is such a great feeling seeing our fans still backing us like that and seeing that everybody's still going to the game even though we’ve had a poor season up to this point. We loved it a lot.

“We are going to keep going until the very end. Even though it has been a really tough season, there are still six games left, and we just need to go out there and give everything.

“There have also been lots of conversations with the players to get a better view of each other and how we can turn it around, because we are focused on the task ahead.

“I know we can win them, and I know we can turn this around. I also know our supporters will do everything to give us an extra edge, too. We are one, let’s fight together.”
