The full-back, who joined us in January from BK Hacken, suffered a MCL injury while on international duty for Sweden Under-23s in April, which resulted in her missing the final few games of the 2025/26 campaign.

Following her hard work during her rehabilitation through the off-season and in the early weeks of pre-season, the Sweden international was back on the pitch in our 5-3 win over the Blues last weekend, playing the whole second half on her return.

With our Women’s Super League season opener just around the corner – at home to West Ham United on Sunday 6 September (12noon UK) – Hanna was pleased to get her first minutes for a while and is just enjoying being back out there with her team-mates.

“It was good to get the first minutes of pre-season in and to be back out there, I have been waiting for a long time for that, so it felt good,” she told us, speaking to us after her appearance against Birmingham City.

“There have been a few ups and downs. First, I had the knee injury and then I have been struggling with some other parts, so it has been tough. But now, I’m back, enjoy being back out there and playing with my team-mates again.

“I have missed the first few games of pre-season, so it was important to get some energy in the legs before the season starts. I want to show both the team and coach that I want to play, so I wanted to get stuck in and show I wasn’t afraid.

“I’m just looking forward to the season starting now. To see all the fans in the stands once again will be really special.”
