Tottenham Hotspur's search for a new manager has seen Brentford boss Thomas Frank linked with the vacancy in north London, after a stellar spell for the Bees saw him register another top-half finish in the Premier League - and he must look to get one major deal over the line if he does take the job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ange Postecoglou was sacked on Friday after weeks of deliberation by owner Daniel Levy, with the Greek-Australian gaffer given the boot despite winning the Europa League last month - with a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League marking Tottenham's worst-ever placing in the competition since its inception 33 years ago.
Tottenham Could Trust Frank With a Huge Signing
The target perhaps wouldn't have flourished under Postecoglou
A campaign that saw an incredible 22 defeats in 38 league games and just 11 wins had Spurs down as the 'worst of the rest', with the bottom three of Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton only recording 25, 22 and 12 points each. That ruled Tottenham out of any relegation woes, but their form in most other seasons would have seen relegation become a real possibility and as such, they're on the hunt for a new gaffer.
Frank is seemingly the top option, and if he does move to the Champions League outfit, that should see him land a £100million star in Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling - with Tottenham having already had previous interest in the England youth international.
Dibling endured his breakthrough season on the south coast over the past year, a rare shining light in what was otherwise a dull and damning campaign for the Saints. Starring under Russell Martin, the teenager picked up goals and assists as well as winning penalties against big sides such as Manchester United and Liverpool, with his dazzling dribbling, brave nature and ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck, standing out to interested clubs.
Make no mistake, teams such as United, RB Leipzig and Tottenham have all registered their interest before, with Levy having wanted him for the past year - but Frank's arrival would certainly benefit Dibling's career if he was to join Spurs under the Dane.
Frank has moulded various talents into stars in his time at Brentford, with top strikers such as Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney all passing through the club, as well as David Raya and centre-back Ezri Konsa, who are all international stars for their countries.
Dibling Would Thrive Under the Danish Boss
But it's his ability to get wingers firing that will stand Dibling in good stead. Notably, Said Benrahma is one player who left Brentford for the Premier League to join West Ham United, having racked up 25 goal contributions for the Bees in his final year in the Championship. However, the standout performers for Brentford have been Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa over the past year - with an incredible output marking an incredible season in west London.
Mbeumo scored an incredible 20 goals, with a further eight assists in the Premier League alone this time around - whilst Wissa, who has flown slightly more under the radar, still managed an outstanding 19 goals and five assists this season, with a further 12 goals and four assists last time out.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tyler Dibling has made 32 appearances for England's youth teams, scoring five goals.
Those stats speak for themselves, and although Dibling hasn't got the output to match just yet, Frank's track record of signing young forwards and moulding them into world-beaters is seriously impressive.
With the former Chelsea youngster being a long-term target for Levy, Frank's arrival could give the Tottenham owner the green light to splash on a deal for the young England talent, where he would shine in north London and avoid a season in the Championship.
