An Italy Under-20 international, who Tottenham Hotspur have allegedly had an offer turned down for has now addressed the speculation linking him with a move.
Amidst the speculation over Cristian Romero’s Tottenham future, the Lilywhites are expected to enter the market for a centre-back this summer.
According to some sources, Spurs believe Kevin Danso is ready to be a starter if Romero leaves, with the club happy with the way the Austrian has settled into life at Hotspur Way.
That might explain why Tottenham are allegedly turning their attention to a young Italian centre-back as a potential backup.
A few days ago, La Nazione claimed that Spurs made a bid Pisa defender Francesco Coppola but their bid was turned down by the Serie B club.
Francesco Coppola reacts to Tottenham transfer speculation
The 20-year-old centre-back had an outstanding loan spell with Serie C side Vis Pesaro in 2024-25 and while he is yet to make his debut for Pisa, he is expected to become a key player for the club during the upcoming season.
The youngster has now admitted that he did hear of Spurs’ interest but handed the Premier League side a blow by revealing that he wants to make his mark at Pisa.

When asked about the rumours of Tottenham making an offer, Coppola told Cronache di Spogliatoio (as relayed by Sport Witness): “I heard the news from my friends, but I only have in mind to earn an opportunity in Serie A with Pisa.
“I want to stay and try to compete in Serie A, now I’ll enjoy the end of the season and then I’ll come back full of energy to grow further.”
Fabio Paratici appears to be pulling Tottenham’s transfer strings again
It has been widely reported that Fabio Paratici will return to Tottenham in a formal role this summer once his FIFA ban expires.
The 52-year-old is an expert on the best-emerging talent from the Italian market and Spurs’ rumoured move for Coppola has his fingerprints written all over it.
While Paratici might not have yet begun work at Spurs officially, it looks like he is heavily involved in Tottenham’s planning for the summer window, which most Spurs fans will be pleased about, given his track record in the transfer window.
