Everton are one of the clubs plotting a summer move for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.
The former England winger faces a pivotal summer as he aims to make a return to the national squad ahead of the World Cup next year.
David Moyes will now be keen to see Everton bring in some additional attacking signings on the back of Thierno Barry’s arrival earlier this month.
Ever since he returned to the club in January, Moyes has demanded a new winger to be signed by the Friedkins.
The Toffees have two games remaining in the United States before they head home for the very final preparations of the summer.
Everton have shown strong interest in Grealish, but they now face potential competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton set for Tottenham competition over Jack Grealish
It is now expected that Moyes will try and convince Grealish to join Everton this summer in what would be a major coup for the club.
The 29-year-old’s time at the Etihad Stadium appears to be over with Pep Guardiola leaving him out of their Club World Cup squad.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
According to Dean Jones, Everton are the club who are currently pushing the hardest to land Grealish from City.
It is even suggested the winger is open to the prospect of moving to Merseyside, but he is also keen to make sure that is the best possible move on the table.
With Everton pushing, there is an expectation that Tottenham Hotspur could make a late arrival to the proceedings.
Ironically, on Tuesday, Neil Warnock urged Tottenham to move for Grealish as he feels that move would suit him down to the ground.
Of course, Spurs could offer Champions League football, but there are still plenty of positives that could lure the 29-year-old to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Grealish is a fight worth battling for
Everton are also awaiting Malick Fofana’s decision, with the Belgian winger also keen to make a move to a Champions League club.
Clearly, Everton are finding it tough to land some of their top targets this summer.
But a player like Grealish would certainly be worth the efforts.
The Friedkins are keen to land a statement signing for the move into the new stadium over the coming weeks.
Grealish would certainly land in that category, and his addition would be a real statement of intent from the owners.
