One current Tottenham player has now shared his thoughts on the inclusion of Jermaine Defoe, who is joined on the list by several other greats from English football’s top flight.

James Maddison has paid tribute to the quality of Tottenham legend Jermain Defoe following his nomination for the Premier League Hall of Fame.

The former Leicester City midfielder made it clear that he has always been a fan of Defoe’s goalscoring instincts, insisting that the striker deserves to be remembered as one of the most clinical finishers in the history of the competition.

Writing on his Instagram story, Maddison said: “One of the best natural finishers the league’s ever seen, in my honest opinion.”
