The future of Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank could be decided in the next couple of days.

Tottenham face Dortmund on home soil in the Champions League tonight, but it’s claimed that Frank will be sacked regardless of the result shortly after.

Spurs feel like a bit of a basket case of a football club at the moment, and even though Daniel Levy has sailed off into the sunset, it appears the new owners still have the same issues.

Frank joined the club on the back of some sterling work with Brentford, but for whatever reason, he’s been unable to really get his ideas across during his short time at Tottenham.

Now, pundits have started assessing who might be the next man to try and bring some continued success to Tottenham, with Frank seemingly on the brink of the axe.

Jamie Carragher thinks Premier League manager is more likely to go to Tottenham

There could be lots of movement in the summer transfer window when it comes to the managers, with a number of sought-after bosses nearing the end of their contracts.

One of those is Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth, and as of yet, there has been nothing forthcoming in the way of an extension from the Cherries to keep their manager.

Carragher believes that Iraola is much more suited to Tottenham than Manchester United, with the Red Devils likely to be in the market for a new permanent manager during the summer.

He said on the Sky Sports Premier League podcast: “Now when I look at Glasner, straight away I’d say no because of the system, straight away.

“Iraola has done a brilliant job and has linked with a top job, but for me, Bournemouth and Manchester United is a huge jump. It is.

“I’d say the same with Marco Silva, who again I’m a big fan of and no disrespect to those managers or the club I’m going to mention, I think the next step for them would be Tottenham. Iraola, Marco Silva, that for me feels more Tottenham-like than Manchester United.”

Iraola would be perfect for Tottenham

Unlike Frank, Iraola has showcased at Bournemouth that he’s capable of playing sustainable football that can be tweaked depending on the opposition and the in-game situations.

Oliver Glasner hasn’t always shown that flexibility at Palace, whilst Marco Silva could remain in place at Fulham beyond the end of the current campaign.

Change our mind: Tottenham were wrong to sack Ange Postecoglou…

Tottenham have to get the next appointment right and after the debacle with Frank – and even Ange Postecoglou – it appears Spurs simply want someone who can come in and play eye-catching football.

Iraola would be the dream for Spurs and the challenge now is to convince him that Tottenham is the club where he will get time to see through a project and be backed in the transfer market.
