While Jamie O’Hara is excited by Mohammed Kudus’ arrival at Tottenham, the former Spurs midfielder admits that he has one major concern about the winger.

The reaction from Spurs fans to Tottenham’s £55m signing of Mohammed Kudus has been overwhelmingly positive.

According to reports, senior figures at Spurs are convinced that Thomas Frank can make Kudus a star, given how the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have developed under the Dane at Brentford.

The Ghanaian’s versatility offers Frank a lot of options in the forward line, and Spurs fans will be eagerly waiting to see what sort of formation he employs in Tottenham’s first pre-season friendly, which is just a week away.

Spurs fan Jamie O’Hara is worried about Kudus’ mentality

Kudus had an outstanding first season at the London Stadium after joining West Ham from Ajax in 2023, but he failed to hit the same heights last season.

Jamie O’Hara admits that he is concerned that the winger’s tendency to blow hot and cold may be indicative of a mentality problem.

When co-host Jason Cundy said that Mohammed Kudus tends to go ‘missing’ at times, Tottenham fan O’Hara responded on talkSPORT: “That’s my concern with him. He’s a really good player, he’s got a huge amount of talent, he can play pretty much across the front three. He can play everywhere. I just worry…

“I think Thomas Frank is a good manager for him because I think he will get the best out of him, and he will push him. He is at a big club with Champions League football. I just hope he doesn’t become one of these players who’s got a bit of a mentality (issue).”

After highlighting Mohammed Kudus’ red card against Tottenham last season, the talkSPORT pundit added: “I just hope he doesn’t become a player who’s got an issue like that. He’s got to come in and be a leader; he’s got to come in and hit the ground running.”

Why Tottenham fans should not worry about Mohammed Kudus’ disciplinary record

Some Spurs fans may remember back to how the 24-year-old lost his head and got sent off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and worry if he is a hothead.

However, Kudus has a very good discipline record across his time at West Ham and Ajax.

The one against Spurs was his only red card in his two seasons with the Hammers and the only other time he has previously been sent off is back in the 2019-20 season.
