A transformative January transfer window is on the horizon at Tottenham, and Thomas Frank is set to bolster his squad.
Frank has placed a forward player on their wish list to rival Richarlison, who scored his sixth league goal of the season in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford.
Spurs have been linked to RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, the teenager currently impressing in the Bundesliga, whilst Tottenham have also scouted Franculino following his stunning performances for Midtjylland in the Europa League.
Perhaps more excitingly, Spurs are preparing to sign Marcus Rashford in 2026, with an exit from Manchester United looking increasingly likely.
What Joe Cole has said about Tottenham target Marcus Rashford
Following a difficult year or so at Man United, Rashford has embarked on two loan spells, firstly joining Aston Villa from January to May before making a switch to Barcelona this summer.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Rashford has been exceptional since moving to the Spanish giants, with the 28-year-old producing 16 goal involvements in all competitions this term.
As it stands, Barca want to sign the England international permanently by triggering his £26million option to buy, although financial difficulties have seen Tottenham make a potential swoop.
Spurs are familiar with Rashford’s attacking qualities, having come up against him on several occasions, and could get a serious bargain by somehow persuading United to sell him to them.
Speaking in September after his brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League, Joe Cole lauded him as ‘unstoppable’, and that will excite supporters.
“When he’s at the top of his game, he can be unstoppable. We’ve just seen not enough nights like that. But it’s great to see him smiling and back at it,” Cole said on TNT Sports.
“When he’s at his best he’s an England starter, he could be a Barcelona starter, he could get into any team in the world, and you just want to see him enjoying his football again – it was great tonight.”
Where Rashford would fit in at Tottenham
On his day, Rashford is one of the best forwards on the planet and his best position is arguably as a left winger, cutting inside on his right foot.
That is where the Englishman could destroy defences at Spurs by isolating opposition full-backs and utilising his frightening pace and fleet-footed dribbling.
Currently, Frank chops and changes between Randal Kolo Muani, Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson, but Rashford is undoubtedly a huge upgrade on all three.
As it stands, a transfer for Rashford is a pipe dream – especially since it’s unlikely United would sell to a rival – though he would be an exceptional signing.
