Alan Shearer has called for four of Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signings to start giving more under Thomas Frank.

Tottenham Hotspur backed Frank with big funds over the summer by signing five first-team players for large fees.

😬 Use one word to describe Tottenham’s summer signings… GO!

Xavi Simons was the headline signing, followed by Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Randal Kolo Muani and Joao Palhinha.

But ultimately, none of them have really contributed a great deal in an attacking sense this season, and Shearer has criticised them.

Alan Shearer slams Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani

Alan Shearer has slammed the contributions of Simons, Kudus, Kolo Muani and Tel at Tottenham this season.

Between them, they have scored just six goals in the Premier League this term, which really hasn’t helped Thomas Frank.

Frank is now under big pressure at Tottenham following the team’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

MORE SPURS STORIES

But despite the team’s overall poor performance, the former Premier League striker has urged the quartet to offer much more in N17.

Change our mind: Tottenham must pay whatever it takes to SACK Thomas Frank…

Discussing Tottenham’s summer signings, Shearer told BBC Match of the Day: “I know they’ve got Kulusevski, Maddison, and Solanke out, but when you look at some of their signings in the summer.

“I know Kudus is out injured also today, but those numbers (are poor). Xavi Simons, Tel, Odobert was also last season.

“Muani, I know, is on loan, but PSG paid £65 million for him. I’m looking at those players, and I’m thinking, ‘Come on, you have to give us more’. You’ve got to give something extra.”

Tottenham’s four attacking signings from the summer must offer more, but also need to be used in a system which plays to their strengths.

Johan Lange is the man who must take responsibility for Tottenham’s poor recruitment and needs to buck up his ideas quickly.

The Tottenham sporting director has faced a lot of heat from supporters since his arrival back in November 2023.
