Jose Mourinho wants to take one senior Tottenham Hotspur man to Fenerbahce this summer and the Turkish club have already taken concrete steps to sign the player.
Until a month and a half ago, it looked certain that the Mali international would depart Spurs with the midfielder struggling to get game regular time for Ange Postecoglou’s side having fallen behind the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr.
It was widely reported at that time that Tottenham would cash in on Bissouma, but the 28-year-old had a strong end to the season, playing an important role for the Lilywhites in their Europa League semifinal and final wins against Bodo/Glimt and Manchester United respectively.
Despite his strong end to the season, Alasdair Gold suggested over the weekend that Spurs could still put Bissouma up for sale as the Lilywhites are prioritising signing a deep-lying playmaker this summer.
Fenerbahce have made a move for Yves Bissouma
According to a report by Hurriyet (as relayed by Sport Witness), Mourinho is keen on taking Bissouma to Fenerbahce and has informed the Turkish club’s hierarchy of his desire.
It is suggested that the Yellow Canaries could allow former Manchester United midfielder Fred to depart and replace the Brazilian with Bissouma.
In fact, the outlet claims that Fenerbahce have already begun transfer talks to land Bissouma, whose agent has been contacted to discuss a potential switch to the Super Lig.
