Jude Bellingham shared the thoughts of every Tottenham Hotspur fan as he reacted to James Maddison‘s comeback.

The 29-year-old returned to action in the 1-1 draw with Leeds United after a year out with injury suffered in the Europa League semi-final against Bodo/Glimt.

He did try to come back from the issue, in the pre-season friendly with Newcastle in South Korea, but ended up being stretchered off the pitch.

It was a brilliant boost for Roberto De Zerbi‘s side as they try to escape a perilous situation towards the bottom of the Premier League.

Tottenham will hope that Maddison can fire them away from relegation, and it seems Bellingham will be keeping a close eye on him.

How did Bellingham show his love for Maddison?

Maddison is clearly loving being back in action for Tottenham, and he took to social media to share his relief at being fit again.

Taking to Instagram on 12 May, he said: “After the longest, toughest 12 months of my life, the reception you Spurs fans gave me yesterday made all the sacrifice & dark days absolutely worth it.

“Thank you so much, back where I belong.

“Thank you to everyone for the support & especially my family & friends for helping me through this journey, wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.”

Reacting to Maddison’s post, the Madrid star commented with five heart emojis and said “love it”.

How Maddison performed on Tottenham return

Maddison featured for 18 minutes in the clash with Daniel Farke’s side after coming on in the 85th minute, as a result of the 13 minutes of injury time.

He took 22 total touches in that time, with two coming in the opposition box, and he also made two passes into the final third in his cameo, per Fotmob.

He showed composure on the ball, completing 92 per cent of his pass attempts in the contest, but he did struggle from crosses, with just one of five finding the target, a measly 20 per cent completion rate.

His creativity and sheer willpower could make a world of difference for De Zerbi’s side’s chances to pull away from the drop zone in their final two matches.

They have to be careful, though, and manage his minutes as the last thing that they want is him getting injured again and spending even more time on the sidelines.

Bellingham speaks for every Spurs fan, it is wonderful to have him back in the mix, and hopefully, he can have a big impact in the relegation battle, in the coming weeks.
