Tottenham look increasingly likely to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

Supporters in North London have patiently watched Tottenham laboriously try to bring in a marquee signing to kickstart Frank’s career in N17.

The Lilywhites have continuously worked through an exhaustive list of forward targets at the Dane’s request as he looks to reinforce his depleted front line.

Tottenham have now settled on Kudus and, following recent updates, could be on the verge of completing a deal.

Tottenham and Kudus talks are underway

Daniel Levy is willing to put aside Spurs’ ill feelings toward the Hammers and make Kudus Tottenham’s first signing from West Ham since Scott Parker in 2011.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (1 July), talks between Tottenham and Kudus are underway after a “positive approach”, with the 24-year-old open to joining the Lilywhites.

Kudus already has UEFA Champions League experience from his time at Ajax, and is likely keen to return to European football following an uninspiring season with the Irons.

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively with Tottenham News – believes that Levy will have to offer Kudus a large contract worth around £31.2million in total to match his demands.

“West Ham need to raise some funds,” King said.

“Therefore, if they need to sell a player, Kudus is a player who will raise a lot of money. Kudus will want around £150,000-a-week to join Tottenham, and he would be signing a contract which is a minimum of four years.

“However, if this is the player that Tottenham want, then they will offer Kudus that money.”

Brennan Johnson will still have vital role if Kudus joins

Questions have arisen about what Kudus joining Spurs would mean for Brennan Johnson, who scored the winner in the Europa League final and ended last season as Tottenham’s top goalscorer.

On paper, they play in the same position, so the Welshman would likely see less game time. However, their differences and Frank’s tactical flexibility in approaching games mean that the former Nottingham Forest forward will still play a key role for Spurs.

Against low blocks and in tight spaces, Kudus would likely be given the nod for his dribbling and creative abilities, whereas Johnson’s pace and knack of arriving in the box at the right time will be a crucial weapon for Frank in more open games.
