The final spot in the Premier League relegation zone has gone down to the final day of the season.
Either West Ham will be relegated and Tottenham will maintain their Premier League status or vice-versa. One big London club will be plying their trade in the Championship next season following a dismal campaign in the top flight.
Tottenham are in the driving seat with a two-point lead over their city rivals heading into the final day's action, so they know that a draw with Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will secure their survival, thanks to their superior goal difference.
Leeds have financial incentive to put in a good performance against West Ham
Anything less than a West Ham win against Leeds and they will be relegated to the second tier, but they know they need a favour from the Toffees to stay up.
Neither Everton nor Leeds have much to play for on the final day, with final positions in the Premier League the only thing up for grabs. But with final positions come more financial rewards.
Leeds sit 14th in the table currently, but can climb as high as 11th with victory over the Hammers at the London Stadium. And that could be hugely beneficial financially for the Whites.
At the end of every season, the Premier League dishes out money to all 20 teams who took part, with every club getting an equal share payment, before other staggered merit payments - domestic and international - commercial payments and facility fees.
Based on where you finish in the final Premier League table, the merit payments go up incrementally.
The 2025/26 payments have not yet been confirmed, but taking into account last year's numbers, Leeds would have earned £19.7million for finishing in 14th place. If they were to overhaul Fulham, Everton and Newcastle - who are all two points ahead of them going into the final day of the season - and finish 11th, if last year's payments are a guide, they would earn £28.2million - £8.5million more.
Everton could lose potential money if they drop down the table
That is a huge incentive for Leeds, who are unbeaten in their last seven matches and actually drew with Spurs little less than two weeks ago, to not make wholesale changes on the final day and go all out for a win against the Hammers.
On the flip side, Everton could also gain just over £8million if they were to beat Spurs and move up three places from 12th to 9th in the final standings. The Toffees could also drop two places depending on results, which would see them lose just under £6million in revenue.
It's going to be an intriguing and potentially dramatic final day of the season and it may seem like clubs have nothing to play for but that is not quite the case. Leeds boss Daniel Farke could bring in another new face in the summer transfer window with an extra £8.5million.
