Leeds United are into the final hours of their summer transfer window and could be busy throughout deadline day.
The transfer window slams shut at 11pm tonight with Premier League clubs up and down the country working down to the wire to strengthen their squads. Leeds have enjoyed a solid start to the season on the pitch but remain active to try and further improve Daniel Farke’s group.
Could today bring the left-sided attacker signing Leeds have wanted all summer? They’ve held an interest in Julian Brandt, Igor Paixao and Mykhailo Mudryk at different points over the last few months but are yet to source competition for Swiss international Noah Okafor.
Should the Whites find themselves a new winger on deadline day, it could pave the way for a first-team exit. Willy Gnonto has emerged as a serious target for Fiorentina and was yesterday granted permission to travel to Italy for medical tests, should a loan exit be sanctioned.

For their part, Leeds insist they will only let Gnonto leave if a replacement is found but with such little time to formalise any deals, having the winger in Florence and ready to undergo tests makes logistical sense. The club were believed to still be working on a potential deal for Mudryk but their attempts were hijacked on Monday.
Tottenham Hotspur now look to be pushing for the winger, having missed out on Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City. Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi worked with Mudryk at Shakhtar Donetsk and the player wants to move to North London.
There was also an expectation Leeds would move for another striker this summer, particularly after Joel Piroe’s loan to West Ham was confirmed. Farke has two No.9s in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha but is now lighter in that position than he was last season.
And could Joe Rodon’s hamstring injury suffered against Brentford on Sunday force Leeds into action? Farke described it as a ‘big blow’ should the Welshman be out for a period, with only three natural senior centre-backs and versatile defender James Justin now available.
Justin’s left-back responsibilities could be reduced if Leeds get a deadline day move over the line for Melvin Bard. Reports overnight suggest a loan deal has been agreed with French outfit OGC Nice which includes a roughly £4m purchase option.
