Read how Leeds United's players rated against Tottenham in this afternoon's Premier League clash
Leeds United clasped a deserved and long-awaited three points with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, with Noah Oakfor grabbing his second goal of the season.
The victory ends a five-game winless run for the Whites and takes them up to 14 points after 10 games - and so are tracking well ahead of their 40-point aim on points per game.
The first half was dominated by two big calls; a handball appeal against Matheus Fernandes and a red card check against Jayden Bogle.
VAR judged the ball to have hit the 'green zone' of Fernandes' upper arm in the first few minutes of the game and waved away the protests. Bogle was perhaps just as lucky to escape red when he trod on the ankle of Mathys Tel, albeit there was no intent or malice.
Chances were few and far between in the first half but Leeds had two good opportunities in the first 10 minutes after the break. Firstly, Nico Elvedi headed narrowly wide from two yards out after bounce-ball from a corner before Ao Tanaka shot an effort from 15 yards out over the bar.
Conor Gallagher saw a rasping effort skip just wide of the post on 68 minutes when having a go from just outside of the area. Leeds had the territory, though, and finally got the breakthrough after Daniel Farke's double substitution.
Harry Wilson laid off for Noah Okafor, who nipped in ahead of the defender to power past Antonin Kinsky to get the decisive goal in the 79th-minute. Here are how the players rated.
James Trafford - Catching was clean, and held on well to low, fizzed balls. Kicking was initially suspect but cooled and showed great anticipation to come out for balls. Another clean sheet, thanks to a great 90th minute save from Jan Paul van Hecke's header. 8
Jayden Bogle - Very positive, getting into troublesome areas for Spurs to deal with. Escaped a red card for a tackle on Mathys Tel. Some fantastic crosses in the second half. Not always clean in the pass. 7
James Justin - Some delightful runs and crosses. Dealt with what came his way, largely. 6
Nico Elvedi - Tussled well with Omar Marmoush. Missed a header from two yards out shortly into the second half. Some important headers away towards the end. 7
Tarik Muharemovic - Probably his most lax game for Leeds passing wise - wasn't bad just not as good as it usually is for his standard. Sometimes was dragged about but kept Leeds attackers silent. Got his head to a lot inside his own box - including when under pressure at the end. 7
Gabriel Gudmundsson - Tenacious and effective attacking on the left. But had to go off at half-time, presumably through injury. 7
Ethan Ampadu - Some poor efforts on goal when in promising positions. Clattered into Muharemovic amid a loose ball when it was the defender's to deal with. Perhaps being a yellow away from suspension played on the mind. 5
Sean Longstaff - Got in the mix, not always successfully. Slid a good ball through to Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the second half. Set-pieces were not potent enough. Took down a ball well and saw his shot deflected over from inside the box on 75 minutes. 6
Ao Tanaka - Won a number of duels, not afraid to get his foot in. Shot one over the bar inside the box he should have kept down. Pressed well. 8
Lukas Nmecha - A number of nearly moments, the failure of which were a mixture of poor decisions or lack of luck. Won a number of free kicks in the second half but too hesitant to shoot when in good positions. 5
Dominic Calvert-Lewin - Out of the game in the first half. Got a few touches towards goal at the start of the second. Leeds found his head a lot better. Saw an effort outside of the box fly over on 69 minutes. Poor first touch when through on goal in the 82nd minute. 6
SUBS
Joe Rodon (92' for Bogle) - Back from injury. Came on too late for proper rating. N/A.
Melvin Bard (on 45' for Gudmundsson) - Did brilliantly well to come in after not much game time. Made a few good passes, tackles and clearances. Kept feeding Calvert-Lewin with the ball forward, no end. Didn't shirk the challenge. 8
Ilia Gruev (on 92' for Longstaff) - First minutes of season. Came on too late for proper rating. N/A
Noah Okafor (77' for Nmecha) - Brilliant first touch, very nice finish. Helped out defensively. 7
Harry Wilson (77' for Tanaka) - Very cute flick for Okafor to gra his first Premier League assist for Leeds. Won a free-kick late on the relieve pressure. 7
MANAGER: Daniel Farke - Attempted to switch things up with his 5-3-2 formation - and it did not make to much of a difference. Waited a long time to make his first sub of the second hald, Bard's half-time entry aside - but boy did it work, the duo combining for the goal. Him punching the air at Okafor's goal said it all. 8
