Leeds United fans will be feeling optimistic when they make their way to Elland Road on Saturday ahead of the lunchtime clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

A solid point that really should have been a win against Bournemouth has seen Leeds clock up eight points from six games, sitting in 11th. Leeds’ 23-game unbeaten run at Elland Road remains intact.

Indeed, Leeds are the closest they’ve been to breaking Don Revie’s unbeaten home record between 1968 and 1970, since Howard Wilkinson’s attempt in 1992. Just 17 more games at Elland Road to break it.

Leeds should have Willy Gnonto and Lucas Perri available again on Saturday after injury, but Dan James will be missing after picking up an ankle injury. It is likely that James is missing until the November break.

The Leeds player who has five wins in six games against Spurs

Leeds’ side almost picks itself at the moment. There are many in-form players, Graham Smyth says Jayden Bogle has started better in the Premier League than last season. Joe Rodon was in Troy Deeney’s TOTW.

Jermaine Beckford said Dominic Calvert-Lewin was unbelievable on Saturday, while Brenden Aaronson got a standing ovation. But, Sean Longstaff was the man of the match again, running the show for Leeds.

Longstaff is among the nominations for Premier League player of the week, but it is his record against Tottenham that Spurs should fear. Longstaff has an impressive five wins from his last six games v Spurs.

Sean Longstaff’s goals and assists against Tottenham

Longstaff has faced Tottenham 10 times in total, winning only one of his first four games against the North Londoners. He may well come up against Archie Gray in midfield, if Spurs fans get their way.

But after Longstaff’s goal and assist for Leeds in the draw against Bournemouth, what chance does he have of continuing his run against Spurs? Well, Longstaff has three assists in his 10 against Tottenham.

Longstaff will certainly be one of the first names on the teamsheet on Saturday. Daniel Farke will have to decide on who goes in goal with Perri fit again, and whether he keeps Aaronson in the starting line-up.
