Tottenham’s turbulent start to the summer has once again left supporters at odds with Daniel Levy.
Fans were left in the dark for almost two weeks after the Premier League campaign concluded over who the manager would be going into next season.
The delay over Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal and Thomas Frank’s appointment has left Tottenham on the back foot in terms of signings, with the returns of Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso on permanent deals the only confirmed arrivals so far this summer.
Frank’s appointment has seen Spurs strongly linked with a move for Bryan Mbeumo, but a recent update on this transfer saga will only further Tottenham fans’ frustrations with the hierarchy in North London.
Mbeumo still prefers a move to Manchester United
Tottenham’s shopping list is extensive as they look to bulk up their squad, but forwards remain a priority for Frank, especially with captain Son Heung-min’s potential departure this summer.

The Danish manager is hoping to lure Mbeumo to Spurs after working with the Cameroon international for six years at Brentford.
The 25-year-old posted his best return for the Bees this season and would be expected to add a huge boost to Tottenham’s limited firepower.
However, according to journalist Ben Jacobs speaking on the Last Word on Spurs (14 June), despite conversations being held, Tottenham are yet to make a formal offer for Mbeumo.
Manchester United are also interested in the right-sided forward and have offered Mbuemo a lucrative contract, which could be pricing Tottenham out of a deal.
Mbeumo’s preference remains a move to Old Trafford, and this will infuriate Spurs fans, who will fear history is repeating itself as Frank risks joining a long list of managers not to be appropriately backed.
Should the deal not go through based on salary demands, especially given Mbeumo’s relationship with his former manager and the fact that Tottenham can offer UEFA Champions League football, Levy could once again face the wrath of the Spurs faithful.
Tottenham need a marquee signing
The core of Tottenham’s squad has plenty of exciting talent, such as Archie Gray, who Frank will be particularly keen to work with after trying to sign the 19-year-old for the Bees.
The 51-year-old has an encouraging record in developing players, but with European football to contend with, he will need a higher calibre of player at the peak of their powers to come in this summer.
Mbuemo would represent a ready-made player, but the Dane will expect at least a couple more marquee signings to give the squad a boost in both morale and quality ahead of a challenging campaign.
