Daniel Levy could make a statement by signing Jack Grealish for Tottenham this summer.

Grealish has been one of the Premier League’s foremost wingers in the last decade, culminating in a move to Manchester City in August 2021 for a record £100million.

The talented winger has won every trophy on offer with the Cityzens, but has fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola and was recently left out of the Catalan manager’s FIFA Club World Cup squad.

Tottenham were close to signing the England international during his time at Aston Villa, but a change in ownership scuppered the deal.

However, Levy could be given a golden opportunity to finally bring Grealish to North London following recent developments.

Manchester City set £40million price tag on Grealish

Thomas Frank has been chasing a wide forward since he stepped through the doors of Hotspur Way, which has seen Grealish linked with a move to Spurs for most of the summer.

The uncertain future of Son Heung-min, who turned 33 on Tuesday (8 July), has also contributed, but Levy was reticent about how much Grealish would cost Spurs, given that he has two years left on his contract at City.

However, as revealed by The Sun (7 July), Man City have set “a shock £40million price tag” on the Birmingham-born forward as they look to offload him this summer.

Grealish has seen his game time dramatically reduce over the previous two seasons and has cut an isolated figure with the former treble winners.

Tottenham, who have been monitoring his situation, are expected to face competition from Newcastle and Napoli, with a return to Aston Villa also a possibility.

However, Spurs’ needs in that position are greater than those of the clubs mentioned above, and with their superior financial position and the surprisingly low asking price, Levy could be ready to sign Grealish and finally bring him to N17.

Grealish would be an exciting signing for Spurs

Grealish’s productivity and flair have been somewhat stifled by Guardiola’s meticulous system, which has seen the former Aston Villa man lose some of his stardust.

The talented wide player is known for his unique dribbling and eye for a cross and was a player fans were keen to watch as he glided around the pitch.

Spurs will hope that Frank, known for his adaptability, can rekindle some of Grealish’s former creativity if he were to join Spurs, and return him to his best, which would no doubt excite Tottenham fans.
