The Lewis family might be the most unpopular owners in the Premier League right now.
Joe Lewis has been under pressure to sell Tottenham, with fans furious at how the club has been run.
Thomas Frank is under intense scrutiny as Tottenham sit 15th in the Premier League, which is barely an improvement from last season’s 17th-placed finish under Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs supporters feel that ENIC haven’t recruited well in the last decade, and that has been reflected by a number of alarming stats.
Joe Lewis needs to take responsibility for alarming Premier League form
Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat to Man United at Old Trafford on Saturday was their 10th loss in the league this season, and it’s clear that there are no signs of progress under Frank.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Spurs’ last 50 league matches have produced the club’s lowest 50-game points haul since 1913-15, with the run starting just before World War One.
While it is true Ange Postecoglou oversaw more than half those games, the Lewis Family cannot simply blame Frank alone.
Tottenham are also winless in their last 11 midweek Premier League games, their longest run in the competition’s history. Their last victory on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday was against Brentford in January 2024.
When looking at the recruitment in the winter transfer window, it’s safe to say that Frank needed a lot more, with Conor Gallagher’s arrival from Atletico Madrid being the only significant piece of business.
Technical director Johan Lange confirmed that Spurs were saving their money for the summer, which is completely ridiculous.
If they had spent more in the transfer market, this season would have been completely salvageable.
However, Tottenham’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season are virtually over, and the focus is now on staying in the top flight.
Since winning four of their first five home Premier League matches in the 2024-25 season, Tottenham have won just four out of 26 games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
They’ve picked up just 39 points during 2025, and it’s evident that nothing seems to be changing in 2026.
Lewis has made a number of costly errors, whether that be in recruiting staff or failing to spend money in a responsible way, and Spurs fans simply deserve better.
Is there any hope left for Thomas Frank?
Ultimately, the blame will lie with Frank.
There are hardly any signs that show why he is the right man to lead Spurs forward.
Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke can develop a strong partnership in attack, and there is certainly enough quality in the final third.
However, the boring style of play has infuriated supporters throughout the campaign, and ENIC can’t allow the toxicity at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to continue much longer.
Frank’s current win percentage of 35.14 per cent is completely abysmal, and there is nothing that can legislate some of the shocking performances this season.
Since reaching the Champions League final in 2019, it has been a sorry state of affairs, and Frank must work miracles in order to avoid being yet another manager to fail in N17.
