Exciting times are ahead for Everton under the ambitious Friedkin Group.
The American investors plan to spend big at Everton and want to return the club to its past glories, with European football a target.
The move to the new state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium next season will be transformative for finances and should help to push the Toffees up the league.
Everton are expected to bank an extra £40m-a-year in revenue at the Hill Dickinson, so evidently David Moyes will be given a healthy transfer budget.
The foundations have been laid for success and former Everton striker Louis Saha has echoed that sentiment, although not without a little dig at Tottenham Hotspur.
Louis Saha makes Everton claim that Tottenham Hotspur fans won’t like
Louis Saha plied his trade at Everton between 2008 and 2012, netting 34 goals across 115 appearances under Moyes’ stewardship.
Saha retired in 2013 and has worked in punditry since, with one of his latest quotes perhaps not going down well with Tottenham supporters.
The Frenchman claimed that Everton’s potential at the new stadium is much greater than Spurs’ because they have more ‘history’.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Saha did actually play for the North Londoners for a short period, so he knows both clubs inside and out, which gives his opinion a lot more weight.
There is always a long-running debate about club size and whether Everton should be part of the ‘big six’ instead of Spurs.
Anyhow, under the new owners, Everton are expected to be a much stronger force in the forthcoming years.
What’s Everton’s aim next season?
With Everton’s upturn in form since Moyes’ arrival in January, many are pondering on what is achievable next season.
Some have suggested a challenge for European football, with many excited by the calibre of players being linked this summer, whilst others are a little more pessimistic.
Speaking back in April, Garner suggested that a top 10 finish should be the aim.
“I don’t think many people would expect us to finish in the top half of the table next season, but we know and definitely know that we’ve got the players and we’ve got the ability, and we’ve definitely got the team to finish in the top half.”
When Moyes received his OBE earlier this month, he didn’t hide his ambitions, making it very clear he wants to compete in Europe.
“We had an incredible time at West Ham and winning a European trophy,” the Scotsman explained. ”But now back at Everton, I’ve got to try and set the same sort of sights for Everton as well.
“In the early parts of my career when I was Everton manager, we did get to Europe quite regularly and it has to be, I feel as if it has to be a target for us.”
