Tottenham are readying a move for Premier League star to replace Guglielmo Vicario next season.

Tottenham Hotspur have wasted no time in commencing their summer transfer business, lining up moves for Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi. The defensive duo are set to arrive on free deals following the end of their respective deals at Liverpool and Bournemouth.

It is the start of wholesale changes to the Spurs squad ahead of the 2026/27 season, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario heading for the exit door. Inter Milan have been in talks to sign Vicario for several months, only for them to drop interest in him recently. This has suddenly put the Italian international’s future up in the air, although Juventus are reportedly keen on his services. They have identified the Tottenham man as an alternative to Liverpool star Alisson Becker.

And it looks like the North Londoners have already sorted out a potential replacement for Vicario. It is worth noting that they also have Lucas Chevalier of PSG in mind to replace the 29-year-old Italian.

Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper on the radar of Tottenham

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are readying a move for Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. Roberto De Zerbi knows Bart Verbruggen very well from his time at Brighton, of course, and he wants to reunite with the Dutchman in North London.

Verbruggen has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League in the last couple of seasons. He has been an ever-present for the Seagulls, playing a key role in them finishing eighth this past season and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League Conference League in the process.

Tottenham must splash the cash to bring in Bart Verbruggen

The Netherlands’s glovesman impressed with his sharp reflexes, command in the box, and ability to play out from the back. At just 23, it would be safe to say Verbruggen is one of the division’s most well-rounded goalkeepers, which shows why he is such a coveted commodity heading into the summer transfer window. No wonder Tottenham want him to replace Vicario next season.

The Seagulls shot-stopper, who kept 10 clean sheets in 38 games during the 2025/26 season, could become a transformative addition to Tottenham’s defensive ranks. Having already proven himself in the top flight, the Dutchman would be able to hit the ground running at White Hart Lane and solve a massive problem that has hurt Spurs in recent years.

Brighton, however, remain in a strong position, with Verbruggen under contract until 2028. So, Tottenham will have to fork out a premium to persuade the Seagulls into selling their star goalkeeper this summer.
